The Fall of Gods

#1 (Burning Statue), digital collage by R.L.

This is a digital collage made using text prompts in an AI image generator. It was then collaged in Photoshop from several images. It was further painted and filtered in PS. All of this was an exploration of AI.

Burning Statue depicts the burning of what seems to be a Roman temple. The burning of the temple is the killing of the gods. All gods. The God. This freedom fighter carries a golden sword. He has ignited the fire that will bring freedom, intelligence, and critical thinking to mankind. Rome, in this case, stands for the vanity of belief, especially in gods and God. Does this image work? What does it convey? How are we to read images like this? Is the temple our mind and the gods our beliefs? Who is the burner and who is the burned? Is there freedom in the burning? In the end, doesn’t everything burn in a fire of entropy? These and many more questions arise from this image.

I invite readers to write an art criticism about this piece called #1 (Burning Statue) and its possible interpretations.
