  13. Brushes: A mix of rounds and filbert bristle brushes in various sizes. You don’t need to spend a lot on brushes. I prefer to use the very cheapest bristle brushes. Small to large sizes.

  15. Medium: Small bottle of Galkyd or Galkyd Lite and a bottle of Walnut Oil or Refined Linseed oil. Odorless mineral spirits (OMS). Note: you can buy food grade walnut oil at Whole Foods for about $6 or you can spend $20 at an art supply store for the same thing. I buy mine at Whole Foods.

  17. Small container of corn or safflower oil from the grocery store. We will use this for cleaning brushes.

  19. Small bottle of Dawn dish liquid. Use this to clean the corn oil out of the brushes.

  21. Container of “Wet Ones” moist wipes (optional)

  23. Rolls of paper towels. You will use a lot of paper towels, so choose the “Select-a-size” variety.

  27. Pre-cut mat for a picture with 4″ X 6″ opening for viewing the scene (optional, but handy)

  31. Trash receptacle: Disposable paper or plastic bag for your used paper towels

  33. Personal items: sunscreen, bottle of water, painting umbrella (optional). Note: We stand to paint. We will be exposed to sun and wind. Dress in neutral colors and in layers, wide-brimmed hat.
